About The Design: Hip Hop
Boogie. Breakdance. Bust out some rap or die trying. Hip-hop is more than a musical genre - it’s a movement.
Flashback to the 1970s. South Bronx, New York, USA. Bellbottoms. Afros swaying in the wind. Sweaty summer afternoons. DJ scratch technique. Leather jackets. Urban streetwear.
Never imitate if you can create. Resist the urge to blend in if you can stand out. Get bold and let the world know. A rhythm speaks louder than words.
Let your soul do the talking. Get in the groove. Sway to the beat. Oscillate with a vengeance. Pivot on cue. Stop, rock, roll.
Hip hop is a musical genre from the 70s that began in New York with roots in Jamaican, Latin American and African American music. The four established essential pillars in hip hop culture are rap, DJ-ing, breakdance and graffiti. DJs created rhythmic beats called "loop", small stretches of music in continuous and turntables, now referred to as sampling. This was the inspiration for BONNE designers to honor this popular musical style in the only way we know how.
